Mel and the Seizures

Mel had another seizure last night. Around 11:30 PM I went into the kitchen to put some dishes in the sink and I knew Mel had gone to bed because he'd already had dinner. I looked over towards his bed and noticed he was kind of half standing up on his bed and yet his head was still kind of down on the bed. I went over to see what was going on and he couldn't move and it was like his body was trembling. There wasn't anything I could do so I just stood there watching him and waiting it out. J came into the kitchen while it was still going on and I called him over to see what was going on. It was soon over and Mel got up and came out of his room but he had a really hard time walking. He kept crossing his paws and it was hard to watch. I was about ready to get dressed so I could take him to the emergency vet again but he got back to normal after a minute. We let him sleep nearer to us last night and J took him to our regular vet this morning while I was at class. The vet said unless he started having them once a month, there wasn't much to be done. He said dogs kind of sense when one is coming on and some hide and some become clingy. I was thinking since he tried to alert us to his last one that maybe this one woke him up and he had been trying to get up to come to me. The vet also said the best thing is to let them sleep it off after.

Melemele also turns 7 this week! Happy Birthday Melemele! He got a new toy (a Cuz) and I'm shopping for a new bed for him!
