Sick Puppy
Melemele is resting right now so we're updating this for him. It seems Mel had a seizure this afternoon. He came running out of his room through the kitchen and into the living room where J was sitting and Mel started rearing up and his front paws were clenched up tight. He then fell onto his side and was shaking/convulsing and his back legs were clenched/curled up. J was on him first, thinking maybe he was choking because his breathing was not normal but there wasn't any blockage. It didn't appear that Mel lost consciousness, start salivating or have an accident (other seizure signs). We rushed him to the emergency vet clinic but he seemed to be back to his normal self. There isn't too much that can be done since he is a little too old for epilepsy and it could be a one time thing. The record of the incident will be faxed to his normal vet and I will call to follow up. We are keeping a very close eye on him.

Poor fella. My family's dog had seizures sometimes. She seems to lead a normal, healthy life otherwise, but I would say she has 2-3 per year.
We're hoping everything's okay!
